| GPS ImageBASE - GIS Landmark image analysts perform image rectification on the imagery which assigns the imagery to a real world coordinate system through the interpolation and extrapolation of ground control points, assigned at a pixel level, across an entire image. Linear rectification, polynomial rectification and rubber-sheeting are the three principal mathematical models utilized in processing a collection of ground control points to tie an image to a real world coordinate system. Each pixel in a corrected image is assigned an X,Y ground coordinate. |
